1. Queenstown, South Island
Number one on my list is Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand, otherwise known as the adventure capital. Is Queenstown the best place to skydive in New Zealand? Maybe, although I can’t say yes for sure as I haven’t skydived around the whole country. However, my experience at NZone in Queenstown was pretty epic. NZone Skydive offers 9,000-15,000ft jumps from $299-$479 NZD with photos/video costing an extra $199-$359 NZD. Find more info on costs here.
This was my first ever skydive and from the moment I met my instructor I felt safe which was the most important thing for me. The skydivers here have jumped thousands of times, some even over 10,000 times! The pictures and videos came out great and the whole experience from the moment I arrived at the dropzone to the moment I left felt professional, fun and most importantly safe. The scenery of Queenstown was pretty epic too! All photos of my skydive in this post are from Queenstown with NZone.
Cheapest place to skydive in New Zealand?
If you’re looking for the cheapest place to skydive in New Zealand, I’d ask what else are you looking for? The cheapest way to skydive in New Zealand is to choose the lowest jump available (9,000ft) and not to add on photos/videos. But, if you are doing a skydive for the first and maybe only time, you might want to go for the highest jump or have videos/photos included.
For me, having photos/videos was super important, I wanted proof that I’d done this for my future self! So, cost-wise, it all depends on what you want.
